In the past, my birthdays have always been about stuff… stuff I don't want, and stuff I definitely don't need. To be honest, I barely remember what stuff I even got last year.

This year’s going to be a little different.

I turn 26 in September, and instead of asking for gifts, I’m asking everyone to give $26. The money isn’t going to me though. Every birthday donation made will go to help build freshwater wells for people in developing countries.

A billion people in the world are living without clean water. We take having access to clean water for granted, but its really a luxury. Millions of people living in underdeveloped countries contract deadly diseases from contaminated water, water that they use to drink and bathe. We have to do something about this. Nearly 45,000 people will die this week alone.

I don’t need gifts. I’ve been blessed many times over. This year, I want to give and I need you to help me! Let’s raise all the money we can so we can give clean and safe drinking water to help the billion people living without it. I want my 26th birthday to matter.

PS: 100% of all charity:water donations go directly to direct water project costs. Each donation is "proved" and tracked to the village it helped when projects are complete.
